One off workshop - Relationships

Activity

This work shop educates young people about the different types of relationships that exist as they approach puberty provides them support to be able to understand different kinds of relationships and how to navigate their way through these at a time when their lives are in transition.

Charges for delivery

This session will cost $500

Sample Outline:

9:30am - Introduction. With whole group, introduce the topic and then a Quiz - what type of relationship is this? Then divided into 3 groups which will then rotate through the different areas.

9:40am - 3 areas are - Parent relationships, Romantic relationships and Peer relationships (friendships) each will last 20 mins

Parent relationships

  • The role of a parent/guardian
  • How to be a good son/daughter etc
  • What qualities make a good parent.
  • What qualities make a good son/daughter.
  • Negotiation skills - situation/scenarios

Romantic relationships

  • Definition - What make a romantic relationship different to a friendship.
  • Managing feelings
  • Personal space
  • situation cards - scenarios

Peer relationships (friends)

  • What is a friend
  • Friendship postcards
  • Qualities
  • situation cards - scenarios

10:45am - wrap up. Conclude by listing qualities of each relational sub group to show that qualities are similar. Short evaluation for students to complete.
