Activity

To holistically address different issues that young women face during their transition from girls to young women. Providing support and identifying various physical, emotional and cultural elements with a focus on positive and healthy wellbeing.

Charges for delivery

Our charge to prepare and deliver the four workshops is $500.

Outline:

Week 1: Positive Relationships

  • Introduction to the group
  • Identifying positive relationships Ð friends, family and romantic

Week 2: Body Image

  • What is body image?
  • Discussing positive self esteem
  • Reflecting on feelings associated and external influences in media, family, culture

Week 3: Becoming Strong Women

  • Approaches to growing up
  • Identifying individual attitudes and beliefs
  • Discussing historical women and cultural difference

Week 4: Self Care through Adolescence

  • Discussing physical changes
  • Learning about the importance of healthy diet and exercise
  • Preparing 'Power Packs' and providing information for future reference.
